I was trying to keep this album pure
But the malice of the world keeps on knocking at my door

All the study and the writing could never be in vain

Who try to use me as their income

Safe as contraceptive pills that causes thrombosis and sad

Cause in theory women endure the pain much better than you
Research of Female specific conditions have been underfunded
Cause we are women warriors but still the weaker gender
Isn’t it ironic ? I love these double standards

Every time you need to save your own skin we are more than

I went on national tv to promote a new song
My family watched it in real time
I felt lucky to have support
Soon as I leaved the set
I received a couple calls
“You did so well but we need to tell
You need to choose better your clothes
You looked fat like you were pregnant
And those braids don’t fit you you ain’t a black girl
You have such beautiful hair why you insist to use hairstyles of
people who don’t have it ?”
Suddenly all my efforts were in vain
It didn’t matter how I spoke
didn’t matter how sang
All that mattered was my stomach
too swollen to be seen
And my hair that was too black to please my whitewashed
family
I wonder
how the hell did all this start ?
Women being judged like paintings
Our brains are the real art
Was it the genesis
Spread on gods behalf
Descendent of a man’s rib ?
