In “Wood & Wool,” Pullmao further explore the cinematic and psychedelic dimension that has become a defining feature of the project’s artistic journey, crafting an instrumental landscape inspired by the imagery of Spaghetti Westerns. The composition draws on the influence of composers such as Ennio Morricone, Bruno Nicolai, Luis Bacalov, and Franco Micalizzi, reinterpreting their legacy through the band’s own distinctive musical language.

According to Pedro Galhoz, the track seeks to create “a Western universe with a certain psychedelic flavor,” transporting the listener into “an arid cinematic landscape of hypnotic textures.” Moving between tension and contemplation, “Wood & Wool” unfolds through barren soundscapes, rhythmic pulses, and an instrumental approach built around the creation of dense, immersive atmospheres.

The track features the participation of Martin Harley, a British musician renowned for his slide guitar work and deep connection to the world of acoustic blues. His contribution adds a new dimension to the song, extending the spirit of international collaboration that has become a recurring element of the Pullmao project. Drums are once again performed by Nico Guedes, a longstanding collaborator who has worked with Pullmao since the debut single.

Following the desert journey of “De Camino al Mar” and the psychedelic drift of “Acid Dreams,” “Wood & Wool” emerges as a new chapter in the construction of Pullmao’s musical universe, further developing an instrumental language where psychedelia, cinematic imagery, and textural exploration coexist and intertwine.
