“Adeus Adeus” é o single de avanço do novo disco de Omiri. Uma música recolhida na Aldeia de São Facundo no concelho de Abrantes e que funde uma marcha tradicional com a inconfundível electrónica de Omiri e com um sabor a Funaná. A viola braguesa e a nyckelharpa de Vasco Ribeiro Casais dão o mote e acompanham as recolhas de Maria de Jesus Alves na voz, de Manuel Neves no bombo e de António Rodrigo na cana, num tema original com uma batida contagiante.

Mais uma vez a tradição Portuguesa é revisitada e transformada para poder ser vivida em pleno na actualidade.

“Ribatejo e Estremadura vol.II: Abrantes e Alcobaça” é novo disco de OMIRI que será lançado no dia 9 de Dezembro. Um disco temático em formato livro/ Cd em as músicas são feitas apenas com recolhas dos concelhos de Abrantes e de Alcobaça. Este trabalho resulta de mais de 6 meses de trabalho de campo nesses territórios e de um profundo mergulhar nas gentes, tradições e identidades. Mais do que música é um documento que retrata parte do património imaterial de Abrantes e Alcobaça e que devolve aos seus habitantes um orgulho na sua identidade.

“Ribatejo e Estremadura vol.II: Abrantes e Alcobaça” é o quarto trabalho temático de OMIRI em que as tradições e identidades locais são cultivadas, nutridas e depois trazidas para os nossos dias com a inconfundível mestria e empatia de Vasco Ribeiro Casais. O Antropólogo Miguel Gomes Costa escreve : “O trabalho do projecto Omiri, pela mão de Vasco Ribeiro Casais, procura justamente (re)descobrir a música que ficou e vive ainda nestes territórios, de forma nova e desassombrada, brincando e fruindo a música como acto lúdico, mas também de trabalho, religiosidade e ritual – e que é capaz de chegar às gerações mais novas, que o recebem com genuíno entusiasmo e afecto!”

"Adeus Adeus" is the lead single from Omiri's new album. A song collected in the village of São Facundo in the municipality of Abrantes, that fuses a traditional Portuguese march with Omiri's unmistakable electronics and has a Funaná flavor. Vasco Ribeiro Casais's viola braguesa and nyckelharpa set the tone and accompanied the field recordings of Maria de Jesus Alves on vocals, Manuel Neves on the bass drum and António Rodrigo on the cracked reed, in an original theme with an infectious beat.

Once again, Portuguese tradition is revisited and transformed so that it can be lived to the full in the present day.

"Ribatejo e Estremadura vol.II: Abrantes e Alcobaça" is OMIRI's new album, which will be released on December 9th. It's a themed album in book/CD format and the songs are only made up of field recordings from the municipalities of Abrantes and Alcobaça. This work is the result of more than 6 months of fieldwork in these territories and a deep dive into the people, traditions and identities. More than just music, it is a document that portrays part of the intangible heritage of Abrantes and Alcobaça and gives its inhabitants a sense of pride in their identity.
