This video, Shadows Await Behind the Walls, was brought to life by Nekromatics, from their debut album Place of Indulgence, released under Prophetical Productions by Vasco Reigota. The vision was captured and shaped by Bruno Mendes, with the devoted collaboration of Alexandra, within the haunting silence of their Attic Homestudio.

The shadows that move through the halls take form in Melek Taus and Melkor, the faces of Nekromatics, while Aila and Rafael embody the restless figures that wander through broken dreams and collapsing rooms.

We give our deepest thanks to Vasco Reigota for his faith, to Bruno and Alexandra for their tireless creativity, and to all who walk with us through these corridors of sound and silence.

And as the echoes fade, remember: shadows await behind the walls, cursed voices linger in silent halls, and though escape may seem in vain, the music will remain, haunting, eternal, alive.

"From the Surface Grate (Reimagined) is a rework of the first ever released single by the bards from Coimbra. Faster, heavier and hauntier, this song is the second single released in promotion of their debut album "Oizys", coming out November 29th on all streaming platforms, in partnership with Nox Liberatio Records.

2 years had passed since the first release of "Surface", and with a new drummer joining Aoidos, this song took on a new life. The band started practicing the song and started playing it faster, faster, until it felt good to play and better to hear. They ended up playing the track at 140 bpm, much faster comparing with the initial 100, and with Erlkönig bringing some amazing Rachmaninoff inspired piano parts, the song changed completely from a dark doomy track to an awesome cinematic and sinister piece.

Comparing the original release with this one, anyone can see the improvement in Aoidos’ sound and can identify the different contributions from each of the members. It truly is a fantastic snapshot of Aoidos’ headspace, writing wise, and a phenomenal gauge of the coming evolution this band is walking towards.

“Trauma” is the most recent track by the bards from Coimbra. An intense and fast paced track mixing influences from Black Metal and Death Metal, it’s Aoidos’ first track with portuguese lyrics and with their full lineup, including their pianist Erlkönig, who composed a beautiful piano piece inspired by Sergei Rachmaninoff that weaves itself perfectly with the intricate guitar work and Freitas’ and Ekid’s layered vocals.

An assault on the senses with a little ethereal reprieve in the middle, this song turns “Trauma” into a living, tormenting being that sees itself not as an oppressor, but as a protector, a shield between the victim and the true extent of the tragedies they went through. “Trauma” seems the easier answer, to forget, to twist the tragedies in a paper ball and throw it out the proverbial window, easier than facing what scars and scares humans. But, in the end, “Trauma” is an unreasonable force that can’t be argued with, and that will control one’s life if left unchecked.

Official video for Spiralist's single "The Deepest Abyss", off of his debut full-length album, "Nihilus", out on May the 4th 2018 through Microfome.

Shot in Valongo, Portugal, in the studios of Mestria in late 2017, "The Deepest Abyss" is a long, gritty and metaphorical look at the psychological desintegration that depression and isolation provide. In it, a gracious dancer (the embodiment of the video's themes) unleashes chaos on an artist's work space, spreading black ink across the studio and burning notes of ideas and pictures of happy memories, while the artist holds on to a black dog, in itself a highly metaphorical image.

Directed by the team of Mestria and edited by Mestria and Spiralist, the video features Catarina Soeiro as the dancer (whose performance itself was directed by Marquesa Giraud), blending tradicional dancing with a visceral performance. The video also features Spiralist himself as the artist, and his dog Luna.

The video echoes the album's themes of depression, isolation and anxiety, and serves as the album's ultimate visual statement.
